Vietnam to apply downsizing policies to public employees receiving salary from the state budget

On February 3, 2023, the Government of Vietnam promulgated Resolution No. 10/NQ-CP on the periodic meeting via online methods with local authorities of the Government of Vietnam in January 2023.

According to the Resolution, the Ministry of Home Affairs of Vietnam shall take charge and cooperate with local authorities and agencies in proactively and actively providing advice on and implementing the conclusion of the Politburo of the Communist Party of Vietnam and Resolutions of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly of Vietnam on arrangement of district-level and commune-level administrative units 2023-2025, by the end of 2030;  

Additionally, the mentioned entities shall cooperate in accelerating the reform of administrative procedures and institutions; arranging public service providers and applying downsizing policies to officials receiving salary from the state budget, ensuring compliance with the requests and objectives of Resolution of the CPV, National Assembly of Vietnam, and the Government of Vietnam.

The Ministry of Finance shall take charge and cooperate with local agencies and authorities in proactively allocating resources to perform salary reform and focusing on investing in socio-economic infrastructure, especially traffic infrastructure.
