Vietnam to amend Circulars concerning technical and environmental safety inspection of vehicles

On December 31, 2023, the Minister of Transport of Vietnam promulgated Circular No. 49/2023/TT-BGTVT on amendments to Circulars on technical and environmental safety inspection of manufactured, assembled, and imported motor vehicles, heavy-duty vehicles, 4-wheel passenger transport motor vehicles, 4-wheel goods transport motor vehicles, and electric bicycles.

Amendments to Circulars concerning technical and environmental safety inspection of vehicles

Specifically, Circulars concerning technical and environmental safety inspection subject to amendments are as follows:

- Circular No. 25/2019/TT-BGTVT on technical and environmental safety inspection in automobile manufacture and assembly;

- Circular No. 45/2012/TT-BGTVT on technical and environmental safety inspection in motorcycle manufacture and assembly;

- Circular No. 30/2011/TT-BGTVT on technical and environmental safety inspection in motor vehicle manufacture and assembly;

- Circular No. 16/2014/TT-BGTVT on requirements for 4-wheel goods transport motor vehicles and their operators when participating in road traffic;

- Circular No. 41/2013/TT-BGTVT on technical safety inspection of electric bicycles;

- Circular No. 86/2014/TT-BGTVT on requirements for restricted 4-wheel passenger transport motor vehicles and their operators when participating in road traffic;

- Circular No. 89/2015/TT-BGTVT on technical and environmental safety inspection of heavy-duty vehicles;

- Circular No. 31/2011/TT-BGTVT on technical and environmental safety inspection of imported motor vehicles;

- Circular No. 44/2012/TT-BGTVT on technical and environmental safety inspection of imported motorcycles and engines used for motorcycle manufacture and assembly;
