Vietnam: Time limit for settlement of pensions and social insurance benefits in January and February 2024

Pursuant to Notice 5015/TB-LDTBXH dated November 22, 2023 of the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids, and Social Affairs on the Lunar New Year holiday and National Day holiday in 2024 for officials and workers, to create conditions for people receiving pensions and social insurance benefits to enjoy the traditional Tet, Vietnam Social Security announces the plan to fund and organize payment of social insurance benefits for January and February 2024 as follows:

- Vietnam Social Insurance provides funds to pay pensions and social insurance benefits in January and February 2024 to the social insurance of provinces and centrally run cities (collectively referred to as provincial social insurance) in the same period as the payment of pensions and social insurance benefits in January 2024 (including beneficiaries receiving in cash and receiving via personal accounts).

- Request the Provincial Social Security to coordinate with the Provincial Post Office:

+ Based on the funding plan of Vietnam Social Insurance and the Lunar New Year holiday in 2024, develop a plan to pay monthly pensions and social insurance benefits for January and February 2024 in the same payment period as January 2024 to ensure full and timely payment of monthly pensions and social insurance benefits to beneficiaries.

+ Report to the Party Committee and local authorities on the plan to pay pensions and social insurance benefits in January and February 2024 in the same period as pension and social insurance benefits in January 2024.

+ Strengthen inspection and supervision of the payment process for beneficiaries, coordinate, resolve, and completely handle arising problems, and promptly reflect problems during the implementation process.

+ Notify the Post Office of the payment plan; request the Post Office to notify beneficiaries of the pension and social insurance allowance payment schedule for January and February 2024 in the same payment period as January 2024.

+ Coordinate with central and local news and press agencies, postal agencies, banks, job introduction centers, etc. to propagate and encourage beneficiaries to receive social insurance and unemployment benefits through personal accounts so that beneficiaries can receive the benefits quickly and most conveniently.

- Vietnam Post Corporation directs its affiliated units to coordinate with the social insurance agency to develop a plan to pay monthly pensions and social insurance benefits for January and February 2024 in the payment period of January 2024. , creating the most favorable conditions for beneficiaries during the New Year and Lunar New Year; organize payments at home for beneficiaries who are elderly, lonely, sick, or infirm and unable to travel to receive.
