Vietnam: There will be amendments to support policies applicable to employees facing difficulties due to COVID-19

Concluding the meeting, the Prime Minister of Vietnam gave directives as follows:

- Require all levels, central authorities, Ministers, Heads of agencies at the same level, and Chairpersons of the People's Committees of provinces and municipalities to focus on both tasks optimally: pandemic prevention and control and economic development; maintain socio-economic activities in all sectors and fields under the new normal conditions as necessary;

- Assign the Ministry of Health of Vietnam to strengthen directives, enhance the testing capacity of the entire system; ensure the rapid detection of epidemic risks from cases with the smallest symptoms; ensure the response capacity of the healthcare system; protect the safety of healthcare facilities;

- Assign relevant Ministries, central authorities, and People's Committees of provinces and municipalities to actively communicate and enforce the wearing of masks in public places; recommend electronic health declarations, install and use the Bluezone tracing software;

- Assign the Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam to decide on the plan to organize the remaining examination phase of the high school graduation exam;

- Assign the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs to finalize and propose the plan to amend and supplement support policies applicable to employees who have lost their jobs and have no income;
