Vietnam: Support policy for livestock establishments whose pigs are forced to be destroyed due to disease

This is a notable content of the Decision No. 2254/QĐ-TTg on mechanisms, policies, support objects, and levels of financial support in the prevention and control of African swine fever in 2020, issued on December 30, 2020 by the Prime Minister of Vietnam.

According to Decision No. 2254/QĐ-TTg of the Prime Minister of Vietnam, breeding establishments include breeders, farm households, farm owners, cooperative groups, production cooperatives, agencies and units of the armed forces doing business in the field of livestock having pigs forced to eliminate due to African swine fever will be supported with the following specific levels:

- For piglets, pigs of all kinds: Support VND 30,000/kg live pig;

- For sows and boars being exploited: Support VND 35,000/kg live pig.

For small and medium livestock enterprises (excluding small and medium enterprises that are subsidiaries or companies with controlling share capital of large enterprises) whose pigs are forced to be destroyed due to African swine fever will be supported with the following specific levels:

- For piglets, pigs of all kinds: Support VND 10,000/kg live pig;

- For sows and boars being exploited: Support VND 12,000/kg live pig.

In the case of small and medium enterprises; household owners who keep pig breeds of great-grandparents and grandparents will be supported with the level of VND 500,000/pig until December 31, 2020.
