Vietnam: Supplementing groups of military weapons from January 10, 2020

This is a new point mentioned in the Amending Law on management and use of weapons, explosives and combat gears 2019 approved by the National Assembly of Vietnam on November 25, 2019.

Specifically, in addition to inheriting the provisions of the Law on management and use of weapons, explosives and combat gears 2017 of Vietnam on weapons considered civil weapons, the Amending Law on management and use of weapons, explosives and combat gears 2019 lists the following groups of weapons, which are considered military weapons:

- Weapons that are manufactured or crafted manually or industrially without satisfying technical standards and design of legal manufacturers capable of inflicting damage and harm to lives and health of humans, destroying matter structures;

- Weapons that are not provided for people’s armed forces and other forces to perform tasks.
