Vietnam: Supplementing documents included in the application for a technology transfer permit

This is one of the important contents mentioned in the Law on Technology Transfer 2017 approved by the National Assembly XIV of Vietnam at its 3rd session on June 19, 2017.

From July 01, 2018, documents of an application for a technology transfer permit are supplemented as follows:

- The certified copy of IP Rights Certificate for objects subject to IP Rights protection (if any);

- Quality standards of products created by applying the transferred technology;

- Explanation for conditions for using technology;

- The written record of valuation of transferred technology in case the transferee uses state funding.

Concurrently, a written approval from the competent State body to transfer the technology is no longer included in an application for a technology transfer permit.

The Minister of Science and Technology is responsible for promulgating the template of the application form for a technology transfer permit and the technology transfer permit template.

The Law on Technology Transfer 2017 of Vietnam replaces the Law on Technology Transfer 2006.
