Vietnam: Striving to 2030: 90% of universities become digital universities

The Prime Minister of Vietnam has just issued Decision No.1373/QĐ-TTg dated July 30 2021 approving the Project “Formulating a learning society in the period 2021-2030".

Accordingly, the Project sets aims to achieve the following notable criterias by 2030:

Striving to get 100% of provinces to complete the universalization of preschool children's education;

Striving to get 100% of provinces to meet the level 2 illiteracy eradication standards;

Having 90% of universities to implement digital learning and to use digital courseware;

Universalizing for 70% of people at their working-age to be equipped with life skills;

Achiving 60% of population from the age of 15-year to have technical training, in which 15% have university degree, etc.

 

Moreover, the Project also outlines some specific solutions to obtain the above objectives, such as:

- Effectively organizing the Week of Response for lifelong Learning, the annual Vietnamese Book and Reading culture Day;

- Researching and offering to formulate the Project of Law on Lifelong Learning;

- Strong application of information technology and digital technololy in in educational institutions etc.

Decision No.1373/QĐ-TTg takes effect on July 20, 2021.
