Vietnam: Standards for staffs directly verifying and approving fire prevention and fighting designs

On August 6, 2021, the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam issued Circular 82/2021/TT-BCA stipulating standards, tasks, training, professional inspection of designs, approval and acceptance of Fire and Rescue Police force.

According to Vietnam's Circular 82/2021/TT-BCA, the standards of staff directly performing the design appraisal, approval, and acceptance on fire prevention and fighting are as follows:

(1) Having a university or higher degree in fire prevention and fighting and rescue.

(2) Having satisfactory results of professional inspection, design approval and acceptance on fire prevention and fighting.

(3) Having time to carry out fire prevention and rescue work in the Fire and Rescue Police force as follows:

- At least 05 years for officers of the Fire and Rescue Police Department;

- At least 03 years for officers of the Vietnam Fire and Rescue Police Department of provinces and centrally run cities in Vietnam.

Note: Leaders of the department, team commanders are directly assigned to be in charge of design appraisal and approval, acceptance of fire prevention and fighting; Officials who are directly assigned to perform the work of design appraisal, approval, and acceptance of fire prevention and fighting that do not meet the above standards may still be assigned to perform the assigned work until 36 months from September 20, 2021.

Vietnam's Circular 82/2021/TT-BCA takes effect from September 20, 2021.
