Vietnam sets target to welcome 35 million international tourists until 2030

The tourism goals in the coming years are set as follows:

- International tourists: By 2025, receive between 25 - 28 million arrivals, and by 2030, receive 35 million arrivals.

- Domestic tourists: By 2025, achieve 130 million arrivals, and by 2030, achieve 160 million arrivals.

Requirements of the implementation plan for the tourism system planning period 2021-2030, with vision to 2045 in Vietnam

- Ensure compliance and continuity of action programs and public investment plans that have been approved; ensure linkage, unity, and no overlap or conflict between tasks, programs, and projects of various sectors and localities.

- Ensure the synchronicity, feasibility, and flexibility of solutions in implementing the Tourism System Planning, aiming to achieve tourism development targets, in accordance with the socialist-oriented market economy institution; align with the national context, resources, the actual conditions of each locality, and the international integration context.

- Ensure the implementation of programs and projects fully considers the current and future economic, social, and environmental impacts; meet the needs of tourists and the development of the tourism industry while also meeting the requirements of ecological environment protection and the demands of local communities.

- Maximize resource mobilization and participation of economic sectors in tourism development; research and propose the reduction and simplification of related business regulations to facilitate the development of the tourism business system.

- Allocate resources with focus and key points, suitable to capital mobilization capability; harmoniously combine different resources; public investment capital should lead to the growth of social investment capital, creating a breakthrough development for the tourism industry, promoting the process of transitioning the development model of other service industries towards high value and efficiency.

- Emphasize the proactivity, creativity, and flexibility of localities and enterprises in implementing the Tourism System Planning; enhance investment attraction for tourism, especially infrastructure investment in transportation, seaports, airports, docks... serving tourism.
