Vietnam’s Set of statistical targets for green growth 

According to the Circular, regulations on the Set of statistical targets for green growth include: 

- The list of statistical targets for green growth prescribed in Appendix I, enclosed with Circular No. 10/2023/TT-BKHDT, includes the following objectives and targets:

+ Objective 1: To reduce the greenhouse gas emissions on GDP

+ Objective 2: To green economic lines, including energy, transport, agriculture, commerce - service, technology, investment capital, bonds, credit, forest resources, mineral resources, and water resources.

+ Objective 3: To green the lifestyle and promote sustainable consumption (regarding the environment, society, urban area, and Government of Vietnam)

+ Objective 4: To green the transformation process based on the principles of equality, coverage, and improvement of tolerance capacity.

- Contents of statistical targets for green growth prescribed in Appendix II enclosed with Circular No. 10/2023/TT-BKHDT.

The set of statistical targets for green growth is the ground to supervise and assess the implementation of National Strategies for Green Growth during 2021-2030, with a vision toward 2050 in provinces, centrally affiliated cities, and the whole country. 

The Set of statistical targets for green growth applies to agencies, organizations, and individuals providing, producing, and using statistical information on green growth. 

The Ministry of Planning and Investment of Vietnam (General Statistics Office) shall take charge and cooperate with concerned authorities in: 

- Collecting and summarizing statistical information in the Set of statistical targets for green growth as assigned and ensuring the sufficient, accurate, and timely provision of statistical figures, ensuring the requirements for supervision and assessment of the implementation of National Strategies for Green Growth;

- Developing and completing methods of collecting information on targets in the Set of statistical targets for green growth;

- Developing databases on statistical targets for green growth. 

- Cooperating with concerned authorities in reviewing the list and contents of statistical targets for green growth according to this Circular to promptly request amendments or additions appropriate to practical situations.
