Vietnam’s registration fees for use of national domain name “.vn” as of June 1, 2023

On April 13, 2023, the Minister of Finance of Vietnam promulgated Circular No. 20/2023/TT-BTC on maintenance fees for the use of domain names and IP and registration fees for the use of the national domain name “.vn” and IP, collection, payment, management, and use thereof.

Registration fees for use of national domain name “.vn” as of June 1, 2023

According to Circular No. 20/2023/TT-BTC, registration fees for the use of the national domain name “.vn” are as follows:

- Second-level domain names with 1 character: 100.000 VND per application;

(Previously, it was 200.000 VND per application)

- Second-level domain names with 2 characters: 100.000 VND per application;

(Previously, it was 200.000 VND per application)

- Other second-level domain names: 100.000 VND per application;

(Previously, it was 200.000 VND per application)

- Third-level domain names under a shared second-level domain name:

+ Com.vn, net.vn, biz.vn, ai.vn: 100.000 VND per application;

(Previously, it was 200.000 VND per application)

+ edu.vn, gov.vn, org.vn, ac.vn, health.vn, int.vn and domain names according to administrative boundaries: 50.000 VND per application;

(Previously, it was 120.000 VND per application)

+ Info.vn, pro.vn, id.vn, io.vn, name.vn: 10.000 VND per application;

(Previously it was 30.000 VND per application for name.vn, 120.000 VND per application for info.vn and pro.vn)

- Vietnamese domain names: 10.000 VND per application.

(Previously, it was 0 VND per application)

National domain name fee payers

Fee payers are domestic or foreign organizations and individuals with granted use or registration of the national domain name “.vn” and domestic organizations with granted use or registration of Vietnamese IP according to the Law on Telecommunications, Decree No. 72/2013/ND-CP, and Decree No. 27/2018/ND-CP.
