Previously, in Official Dispatch No. 4594/LDTBXH-ATLD 2023, the Ministry of Labor – War Invalids and Social Affairs of Vietnam proposed the Lunar New Year Holiday and National Day Holiday Schedules in 2024 as follows:
- Lunar New Year Holiday 2024:
+ Scheme 1: 5 days off according to regulations with 2 days off before Tet and 3 days off after Tet.
+ Scheme 2: 5 days off according to regulations with 1 day off before Tet and 4 days off after Tet.
+ The Ministry of Labor - War Invalids and Social Affairs of Vietnam suggests the selection of scheme 1 out of the 2 because they both have the same days off, but scheme 1 ensures harmony between the time off before and after Tet (scheme 1 is consensually agreed on by every concerned Ministry and central authority).
- National Day Holiday 2024:
+ Scheme 1: 2 days off according to regulations, specifically September 2 of the Gregorian calendar and an adjacent day after September 2.
+ Scheme 2: 2 days off according to regulations, specifically September 2 of the Gregorian calendar and an adjacent day preceding September 2.
+ The Ministry of Labor - War Invalids and Social Affairs of Vietnam suggests the selection of scheme 1 out of the 2 because they both have the same number of days off, which is 4 consecutive days off from Saturday, August 31, 2024 to the end of Tuesday, September 3, 2024, but scheme 1 does not require any administrative procedure and arrangement of compensatory days off for the weekly days off according to Clause 3 Article 111 of the Labor Code (scheme 1 is consensually agreed on by every concerned Ministry and central authority).
