On June 18, 2024, the Government of Vietnam issued Resolution No. 93/NQ-CP on key tasks and solutions to promote growth, control inflation, and ensure macroeconomic stability.
In order to address existing drawbacks and limitations, and to successfully achieve the targets and objectives of the socio-economic development plan for 2024, Hanoi requires Ministers, Heads of ministerial-level agencies, government agencies, other central agencies, Chairmen of People's Committees of provinces and central-affiliated cities (hereinafter referred to as ministries, agencies, and localities) to proactively, promptly, and effectively implement the Resolutions and Conclusions of the Central Committee, the Politburo, the National Assembly, the Government, and the directives of the Prime Minister. They should particularly focus on implementing the key tasks and solutions to promote growth, control inflation, and stabilize the macroeconomy, specifically as follows:
Focus on completing institutions, laws, mechanisms, and policies to immediately resolve difficulties and obstacles, thereby freeing up resources to promote socio-economic development.
Continue to prioritize growth; proactively, flexibly, timely, and effectively manage monetary policy; coordinate synchronously, harmoniously, and closely with a reasonably expanded, focused, and targeted fiscal policy; continue to address difficulties for the people and businesses.
Promote the disbursement of public investment funds, using public investment to activate and lead private investment, and boost public-private partnership. Concentrate on renewing traditional growth drivers (investment, export, consumption) and strongly promote new growth drivers (green economy, digital economy, circular economy, knowledge economy, and emerging fields such as chips, semiconductors, AI, etc.).
Focus on strongly developing major industries and sectors.
Implement synchronized and effective measures to control inflation.
Pay attention to cultural, social, and environmental sectors; ensure social security and the people's livelihoods.
Ensure national defense, security, social order, and safety; boost foreign relations and international integration.
The Ministry of Information and Communications should focus on directing; Vietnam Television, Voice of Vietnam, Vietnam News Agency, Government Portal, and other press agencies should perform well in information dissemination and communication, especially policy communication. They should ensure timely, objective, and truthful reflection of the Government's and the Prime Minister's leadership and administration activities, following the spirit of "spotting the good to eliminate the bad" and "highlighting the positive to push back the negative," thereby contributing to creating social consensus, reinforcing trust, inspiring, and generating new momentum and determination to successfully accomplish the set goals and tasks.
