Vietnam: Reproductive health care plan for adolescents in the period of 2020 - 2025

Decision No. 3781/QĐ-BYT on the promulgation of the National action plan on reproductive and sexual health care for adolescents and young adults in the period 2020-2025 was issued on August 28, 2020 by the Ministry of Health of Vietnam.

The plan issued together with Decision No. 3781/QĐ-BYT of the Ministry of Health of Vietnam has set out action goals as follows:

General objectives: Improve the reproductive and sexual health status of adolescents and young adults; contribute to turning adolescents and young people into a healthy workforce, bringing into full play their potential to contribute to the country's socio-economic development, towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals/

Specific objectives:

- Communicate to policy makers and a number of stakeholders to create a favorable environment for evidence-based reproductive and sexual health care for adolescents and young adults;

- Continue to raise awareness and change behavior on reproductive and sexual health care of adolescents, young people and related subjects (parents, teachers, officials, Youth Union etc.);

- Increase access to and improve the quality of reproductive and sexual health care services that are friendly for adolescents and young adults.
