Vietnam: Regulations on interval between 2 doses of COVID-19 vaccine

On July 26, 2021, Ministry of Health issued Decision No. 3588/QĐ-BYT on the promulgation of Guidelines for organizing a vaccination session against COVID-19.

According to this Guidelines, most of current COVID-19 vaccines are injected with 2 doses (the interval between 2 doses according to the manufacturer's instructions), specifically:

- Vaccine AstraZeneca: Interval: 8-12 weeks

- Vaccine Gam-COVID-Vac (other name is SPUTNIK V): Interval: 3 weeks

- Vaccine Comirnaty: Interval: 3 weeks

- Vaccine SARS-CoV-2: Interval: 3-4 weeks

- Vaccine Moderna: Interval: 4 weeks

Moreover, before vaccination, the Department of Health of the provinces and cities shall make a list of eligible vaccination facilities specified in Decree No. 104/2016/ND-CP (both public and private facilities notwithstanding inside and outside the country) including detailed information about the facility, the head/person in charge of vaccination, contact phone number, number of injection tables, number of staff and information about equipment...; develop a plan to mobilize all vaccination service establishments in the area to coordinate in vaccination in case of necessity.
