Vietnam: Reduction in environmental protection tax for jet fuel until December 31, 2020

Recently, the Standing Committee of the National Assembly of Vietnam issued Resolution 979/2020/UBTVQH14 dated July 27, 2020, amending and supplementing Sub-section 2 of Section I of the Environmental Tax Schedule stipulated in Clause 1, Article 1 of Resolution 579/2018/UBTVQH14 on the Environmental Tax Schedule.

In this Resolution, sub-section 2 of section I in the Environmental Tax Schedule stipulated in clause 1, Article 1 Resolution 579/2018/UBTVQH14 on the Environmental Tax Schedule in Vietnam is amended and supplemented as follows:

- The environmental protection tax for jet fuel in Vietnam is 2,100 VND/liter, applicable from August 1, 2020, to December 31, 2020.

- The environmental protection tax for jet fuel is 3,000 VND/liter, applicable from January 1, 2021.

The Resolution also specifies that the Government of Vietnam direct ministries, central authorities, local authorities, and relevant bodies to implement this Resolution.
