Vietnam: Reducing the number of infectious diseases of compulsory vaccines

The Ministry of Health of Vietnam issued Circular No. 38/2017/TT-BYT regulating the lists of infectious diseases, scope and recipients of compulsory vaccines and biologicals, replacing Circular No. 26/2011/TT-BYT.

According to Circular No. 38/2017/TT-BYT of the Ministry of Health of Vietnam, lists of infectious diseases, scope and recipients of compulsory vaccines and biologicals are adjusted as follows:

- List of infectious diseases and compulsory vaccines used in the Expanded Program on Immunization: Reducing from 11 to 10 infectious diseases. Specifically, Cholera and Typhoid are abolished, Rubella is supplemented;

- List of infectious diseases, compulsorily administered vaccines and biologicals: Reducing from 21 to 8 infectious diseases. Specifically, Influenza, Tuberculosis, Mumps, Yellow fever, etc. are abolished;

In case of necessity, the Ministry of Health may update and supplement the List of infectious diseases and compulsory vaccines used in the Expanded Program on Immunization and the List of infectious diseases, compulsorily administered vaccines and biologicals mentioned above.
