Vietnam: Reducing the ceiling prices of medical services outside of the scope of coverage by the health insurance fund from January 15, 2019

This is a notable content of the Circular No. 37/2018/TT-BYT of the Ministry of Health of Vietnam prescribing the ceilings of the range of prices of medical services outside of the scope of coverage by the health insurance fund at state-owned healthcare establishments, issued on November 30, 2018.

The ceiling prices of medical services set on the basis of direct costs and salaries in Appendix I enclosed with Circular No. 37/2018/TT-BYT have been reduced compared to those of Circular No. 02/2017/TT-BYT of the Ministry of Health of Vietnam. To be specific:

- Special-rank hospitals: VND 37.000 (current prices: VND 39.000);

- Rank-I hospitals: VND 37.000 (current prices: VND 39.000);

- Rank-II hospitals: VND 33.000 (current prices: VND 35.000);

- Rank-III hospitals: VND 29.000 (current prices: VND 31.000);

- Rank-IV hospitals: VND 26.000 (current prices: VND 29.000);

- Commune-level health stations: VND 26.000 (current prices: VND 29.000).
