Vietnam: Reducing fines for violations against regulations on facilities manufacturing animal feeds

Recently, the Government of Vietnam issued Decree No. 64/2018/ND-CP on penalties for administrative violations against regulations on livestock breeds, animal feeds and aqua feeds.

Decree No. 64/2018/ND-CP of Vietnam’s Government reduces fines for administrative violations against regulations on eligibility requirements applied to facilities manufacturing and processing animal and aqua feeds, specifically as follows:

- Reducing the fine range from VND 5,000,000 - VND 10,000,000 to VND 3,000,000 - VND 5,000,000 for facilities that fail to employ technicians who must obtain appropriate qualifications.

- Reducing the fine range from VND 10,000,000 - VND 15,000,000 to VND 3,000,000 - VND 5,000,000 for facilities that fail to adopt solutions and equipment to ensure environmental sanitation.

In particular, the act of running animal and aqua feed manufacturing and processing sites placed in polluted areas may also be subject to additional penalties, which is to suspend operations of violating manufacturing and processing facilities for a fixed period of 01 – 03 months.

More details can be found in Decree No. 64/2018/ND-CP of Vietnam’s Government, which takes effect from June 22, 2018 and replaces Decree No. 119/2013/ND-CP relevant provisions in Decree No. 41/2017/ND-CP.
