Vietnam: Promulgating new programs and contents of fostering national defense and security knowledge

On December 30, 2020, the Minister of National Defense of Vietnam issued the Circular No. 172/2020/TT-BQP promulgating programs and contents; framework program for fostering national defense and security knowledge.

According to the Circular No. 172/2020/TT-BQP of the Minister of National Defense of Vietnam, instructions on the use of the program, contents of training on national defense and security knowledge as follows:

- Programs and contents are compulsory regulations for training subjects; training institutions regularly update new contents about the Party's lines and views, State and local policies and laws on national defense and security tasks to compile appropriate lesson plans and lectures suitable for each subject of training;

- Based on the program, content and duration of training on national defense and security knowledge of each subject, the training facility when formulating the plan is allowed to adjust the time for each topic to ensure the objectives and requirements, suitable for each subject of training, but must not exceed the total training time of each subject;

- Complementary activities include: Practice operating the mechanism in defensive area drills at provincial and district levels and defensive combat drills at commune level; visit, practice research;
