Vietnam: Promptly affix terminal cards for road motor vehicles

This is the significant content of Directive 39/CT-TTg by the Prime Minister of Vietnam on accelerating the implementation progress and enhancing the use of non-stop electronic toll collection services.

The Prime Minister of Vietnam requires vehicle owners and operators to:

- Promptly affix terminal cards for road motor vehicles at the nearest inspection time, or immediately when passing through a toll plaza that has operated a non-stop electronic toll collection system in Vietnam;

- Absolutely do not drive the vehicle into lanes designated for non-stop electronic toll collection if the vehicle has no terminal card or has a terminal card but the account balance is insufficient to cover the toll transaction;

- Actively cooperate with functional forces and related units at toll plazas; refrain from any disruptive behaviors that may obstruct the toll collection activities, especially at toll plazas that have operated a non-stop electronic toll collection system in Vietnam.

Any deliberate violations will be handled strictly according to the provisions of the law.

More details may be found in Directive 39/CT-TTg issued on October 7, 2020.
