Vietnam: Prices of medical examination and treatment services according to Circular 39

Recently, the Ministry of Health of Vietnam issued Circular No. 39/2018/TT-BYT unifying prices of medical examination and treatment services covered by medical insurance among hospitals across the country and guidelines for applying prices and payment for medical services in certain cases.

Prices for medical examination and consultation are specified in Appendix I attached to Circular No. 39/2018/TT-BYT of the Ministry of Health of Vietnam, specifically as follows:

- Specially-classed hospitals: VND 37.000;

- Class I hospitals: VND 37.000;

- Class II hospitals: VND 33.000;

- Class III hospitals: VND 29.000;

- Class IV hospitals: VND 26.000;

- Medical aid stations of communes: VND 26.000;

- Consultation for determining tough cases: VND 200.000.

Moreover, prices for hospital stay are specified in Appendix II hereto; prices for medical procedures are specified in Appendix III hereto; additional notes of some medical procedures presented by the Ministry of Health in its Decisions shall be prescribed in Appendix IV hereto.
