The Ministry of Health of Vietnam has just released Official Dispatch 8688/BYT-DP dated October 14, 2021 on vaccination against COVID -19 for children 12-17 years old.
According to this Official Dispatch, the Ministry of Health of Vietnam proposes the Department of Health of provinces and cities implement vaccination against COVID-19 for children, specifically as follows:
- Expand the target audience for children from 12 to 17 years old according to the roadmap from high to low ages (pre-vaccination for 16-17 years old and gradually lower the age) under the schedule of vaccine supply and epidemic situation.
- Type of vaccine used: the vaccine has been approved by the Ministry of Health for use in this age group, according to the instructions for use of the manufacturer and the Ministry of Health. The vaccine is used in 02 basic doses/subject and injected with the same vaccine.
- Develop a plan and implement the 1st injection from October 2021 if prepared and qualified.
- Coordinate with the Department of Education and Training to review and make a list of vaccinations for children going to school from grade 6 to grade 12. For children of this age who do not attend school, coordinate with local authorities to establish a list.
- Organize injections in the form of campaigns at fixed vaccination facilities, at mobile injection sites and schools (for areas where the organization is concentrated at school)...
