Vietnam: People's Procuracy officials aged over 40 will not be sent for postgraduate training

On August 25, 2020, the Supreme People's Procuracy of Vietnam issued Decision 303/QD-VKSTC promulgating the Regulations on training and fostering officials and public employees in the People's Procuracy sector.

Under the regulations issued with Decision 303/QD-VKSTC, the conditions for Vietnamese officials and public employees in the People's Procuracy sector to be sent for postgraduate training are as follows:

For Vietnamese officials:

- Have a working period of at least 03 years (excluding the probationary period) and have completed duties well for 02 consecutive years immediately preceding the year they are sent for training;

- Do not exceed 40 years of age at the time of being sent for postgraduate training for the first time;

- Have a commitment to perform duties well at the agency or unit after completing the training program for at least twice the training duration;

- The training major should be appropriate to the job position, except as decided by the competent authority.

For Vietnamese public employees:

- Have completed the probationary period (if any);

- Have a commitment to perform duties and professional activities at the agency or unit after completing the training program for at least twice the training duration;

- The training major should be appropriate to the job position, except as decided by the competent authority.
