Vietnam: Patients have the rights to monitor, complaint about the service attitude of medical staff

This is a notable content of the Circular No. 92/2020/TT-BCA of the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam on the implementation of democracy in medical facilities of the People's Public Security, issued on August 20, 2020.

Specifically, according to the Circular No. 92/2020/TT-BCA of the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam, patients and their family members shall supervise and consult on the following matters:

- The implementation of medical regimes and policies related to the legitimate rights and interests of the patient; medical examination and treatment regimes and policies according to regulations of the State and the Ministry of Public Security;

- The implementation of internal rules and regulations on medical examination and treatment of medical establishments;

- The spirit and service attitude of medical staff, proposing ideas to contribute to encouraging the spirit, enthusiastic service attitude and responsibility in medical examination and treatment of medical staff; exchange and coordinate with medical staff in caring for and nurturing patients (this content was previously stipulated in Circular No. 64/2009/TT-BCA and is now continued to be recorded in Circular 92 in the direction of amendment);

- The implementation of environmental sanitation, ensuring security and order at the place of medical examination and treatment;

- Settlement, complaints, denunciations and results of settlement, complaints and denunciations of patients and their family members.
