Vietnam: Orientation to develop the marine economic sector cluster until 2030

Decision 892/QD-TTg dated July 26, 2022 approved the project on the development of marine economic clusters in association with building strong marine economic centers in the period up to 2030 in Vietnam.

Specifically, the direction and tasks of developing marine economic clusters associated with building strong national marine economic centers in marine economic clusters in Vietnam are as follows:

- The North (Quang Ninh - Hai Phong - Thai Binh - Nam Dinh - Ninh Binh) with a key development area in Hai Phong - Quang Ninh;

- North Central Coast (Thanh Hoa - Nghe An - Ha Tinh - Quang Binh) with key development areas in coastal Nghe An - Ha Tinh;

- Central Central Region (Quang Tri - Thua Thien Hue - Da Nang - Quang Nam - Quang Ngai) with key development areas in Da Nang - Thua Thien Hue;

- South Central Coast (Binh Dinh - Phu Yen - Khanh Hoa - Ninh Thuan) with key development areas in Khanh Hoa - South Phu Yen;

- Expanded Southeast (Binh Thuan - Ba Ria - Vung Tau - Southeast of Ho Chi Minh City - Tien Giang) with key areas in Ba Ria - Vung Tau - Southeast of Ho Chi Minh City;

- The East of the Southwest region (Ben Tre - Tra Vinh - Can Tho - Soc Trang - Bac Lieu - Southeast Ca Mau) with a focus on development in the area along the downstream of the Hau river mouth (Tra Vinh - Can Tho - Soc Trang). Moon);

- Southwest (Kien Giang - Ca Mau) with the focus of development being Phu Quoc island and the coastal area of Rach Gia city - Ho Chi Minh City - Nam Can economic zone.
