Vietnam: Objects and support level for the 4th phase of electricity bill reduction due to Covid-19

Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam issued Official Dispatch 4748/BCT-DTDL dated August 6, 2021 on supporting electricity price reduction, electricity bill reduction for electricity users affected by the 4th phase of the COVID-19 epidemic.

According to Vietnam's Official Dispatch 4748/BCT-DTDL, the electricity bill reduction for customers using electricity for domestic purposes is as follows:

- Objects of support for electricity price reduction are customers who use electricity for living purposes in the following localities:

+ The provinces and centrally-run cities implement social distancing according to Vietnam's Directive 16/CT-TTg at the time of July 30, 2021;

+ The districts, towns, and cities directly under the province and centrally-run cities are implementing social distancing throughout the area according to Vietnam's Directive 16/CT-TTg as of July 30, 2021;

The list of localities supported to reduce electricity bills mentioned above is provided by the People's Committees of provinces and centrally run cities for electricity units.

- Electricity bill support level:

+ 15% off the electricity bill (before VAT) for customers using up to 200 kWh per month.

+ 10% off the electricity bill (before VAT) for customers using more than 200 kWh/month.

- Support period: 02 months at the electricity bill periods of August and September 2021.

- Basis for determining the level of support: The amount of electricity used for living purposes in the electricity bill period of August and September 2021.
