Vietnam: New regulations on quality control of building materials and products

On February 9, 2021, the Government of Vietnam issued Decree 09/2021/ND-CP on management of building materials, replacing Decree 24a/2016/ND-CP and Decree 95/2019/ND-CP .

According to Vietnam's Decree 09/2021/ND-CP, the requirements for product quality, construction materials, and construction components from February 9, 2021 are clearly stated as follows:

Quality of products and goods of building materials and building components must be compliant with regulations of Vietnam's law on quality of products and goods; Vietnam's law on technical regulations and standards.
Domestically produced products and goods of building materials and building components must meet published standards.
If national standards applied to products and goods of building materials have not been available, the producers thereof shall formulate and issue internal standards in accordance with regulations of law on technical regulations and standards.
Regarding imported products and goods of building materials and building components, standards applied shall be published.
Products and goods of building materials and building components managed under national technical regulations should conform to respective national technical regulations.

In which construction components are products of building materials manufactured to be assembled into work structures (previously there were no regulations on construction components).
