Vietnam: New regulations on products and goods of building materials

The Ministry of Construction of Vietnam issued Circular No. 10/2017/TT-BXD promulgating National Technical Regulations on products and goods of building materials QCVN 16:2017/BXD, replacing QCVN 16:2014/BXD enclosed withCircular No. 15/2014/TT-BXD.

New regulation on the List of potentially unsafe products, goods of building materials (Table 1) includes:

- Cement, cement and concrete admixtures;

- Glass for construction;

- Floor and wall tiles, stone slabs;

- Sand for construction;

- Masonry materials;

- Other building materials.

Producers and importers must accurately declare types of products, goods of building materials in accordance with the product list in Table 1, Part 2 of this document. Otherwise, it is required to coordinate with conformity assessment authorities to identify the types of products.

Products, goods of building materials listed in Table 1, Part 2, while being sold on the market, must have the certificate of conformity and certificate of submission of declaration of conformity of the Department of Construction of the province where organizations and individuals register business.

Circular No. 10/2017/TT-BXD of the Ministry of Construction of Vietnam takes effect from January 01, 2018.
