Vietnam: New points in the content of the marine construction maintenance plan

July 26, 2022. The Minister of Transport of Vietnam issued Circular 19/2022/TT-BGTVT stipulating regulations on maintenance of marine construction.

According to the Circular in Vietnam, the amendments to the content of the marine construction maintenance plan are as follows:

The contents of a marine construction maintenance plan in Vietnam include the following basic information:

- Name of construction and construction item (work);

- Unit, mass, estimated cost;

(Currently, Vietnam's Circular 52/2017/TT-BGTVT stipulates the cost).

- Execution time;

- Form of construction;

- Priority level;

- Plan for maintenance of marine works according to Form No. 1A and Form No. 1B, Appendix I of Vietnam's Circular 19/2022/TT-BGTVT.

(Compared to the current regulations in Vietnam, the content of the maintenance plan for marine structures is no longer specified at priority level 1 (essential): an explanation is required, and for unexpected repairs, the content of the maintenance plan should only include provision for costs.)

Circular 19/2022/TT-BGTVT takes effect from October 1, 2022, replacing Circular 52/2017/TT-BGTVT and Circular 07/2019/TT-BGTVT.
