Vietnam Ministry of Education and Planning promulgates the schedule plan for the school year 2021-2022

The Ministry of Education and Planning of Vietnam issued the Decision No. 2551/QĐ-BGDĐT on August 04, 2021 on the schedule plan of the school year 2021-2022 for preschool, general and continuing education.

According to the Decision No. 2551/QĐ-BGDĐT, the timeframe for the 2021-2022 school year is as following:

- Return to school as early as September 1, 2021. For grade 1, return to school as early as August 23, 2021.

- Organizing the opening ceremony on September 5, 2021.

- End the first semester before January 16, 2022, complete the second semester education plan by May 25, 2022, and end the school year before May 31, 2022.

- Considering the recognition of completing the primary program and considering the recognition of graduating from junior high school before June 30, 2022.

- Complete enrollment for the first grade classes by July 31, 2022.

- High school graduation exam, national excellent student exam and national science and technology exam under the guidance of the Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam.

Moreover, according to the Decision No. 2551/QĐ-BGDĐT, Chairpersons of People's Committees of central-affiliated provinces and cities shall specify the local school year plan which is suitable to the local actual situation as follows:

- The school year plan for preschool education, general education and continuing education must suit local realities;

- The time off, early return to school and extension of the school year must not exceed 15 days compared with the general framework promulgated by the Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam.

Decision No. 2551/QĐ-BGDĐT takes effect from the date of issuance.
