Vietnam: List of imported motorcycles, cars and spare parts subject to regulation conformity announcement

The Ministry of Transport of Vietnam issued Circular No. 41/2018/TT-BGTVT on the list of potentially unsafe commodities under its management.

Enclosed with Circular No. 41/2018/TT-BGTVT of the Ministry of Transport of Vietnam are:

- Appendix I, including commodities subject to certification of conformity before customs clearance such as: motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers; motorcycles, mopeds, electric bicycles and motored bicycles; heavy duty vehicles;

- Appendix II, including commodities subject to certification or declaration of conformity such as: four-wheeled vehicles fitted with engines; parts; car interior and spare parts; etc.

In principle, the products imported in Appendix I must be certified in accordance with the standards before customs clearance. The time of inspection and certification for imported products in Appendix II is done after customs clearance and before being put on the market.
