Vietnam: Lecturers for continuous training for medical officials must have practice certificate

The Ministry of Health of Vietnam issued the Circular No. 26/2020/TT-BYT on amendments to the Circular No. 22/2013/TT-BYT guding continuous training for medical officials.

According to the Circular No. 26/2020/TT-BYT of the Ministry of Health of Vietnam, continuous training courses must assign adequate number of lecturers who:

- Have specialized experience for at least 24 consecutive months up until the date of delivering lectures in appropriate majors; education level of lecturers must not be lower than education level of learners of training courses;

- Have practice certificate and scope of specialized operation suitable for continuous training programs and beneficiaries for lecturers who deliver clinical practice training;

- Receive training for medical teaching – learning methods according to guidelines of the Ministry of Health of Vietnam. Lecturers delivering clinical practice training lectures must receive training for clinical teaching – learning methods specified under Circular No. 11/2019/TT-BYT on improving clinical teaching methods for clinical lecturers in healthcare education.

According to the current provision of the Circular No. 22/2013/TT-BYT of the Ministry of Health of Vietnam, continuous training lecturers only need to be trained without a certificate or minimum professional experience, however, this content will be replaced by the above regulation from March 01, 2021.
