Vietnam: Innovating the List of technical standards for application of information technology in regulatory authorities

The Ministry of Information and Communications of Vietnam issued Circular No. 39/2017/TT-BTTTT promulgating the List of technical standards for application of information technology in regulatory authorities.

Promulgated together with Circular No. 39/2017/TT-BTTTT of the Ministry of Information and Communications of Vietnam is the List of technical standards for application of information technology in regulatory authorities. The List consists of 68 types of standards which are divided into 4 groups, specifically as follows:

- Connection standards: Hypertext transfer, file transfer, etc.;

- Data integration standards: Extensible Markup Language, data transformation, etc.;

- Information access standards: Web content, document, etc.;

- Information security standards: Email security, file transfer security, etc.;

Notably, within 01 year from the effective date of this Circular, operating IT systems of regulatory authorities shall be reviewed and a transformation and upgrade plan or roadmap should be developed in accordance with this Circular.
