The Government of Vietnam officially approved Decree No. 56/2017/NĐ-CP detailing a number of articles of the Law on Children.
According to Decree No. 56/2017/NĐ-CP of Vietnam’s Government, children who have been sexually abused have their information kept confidential throughout the process of receiving and processing information, notifying and reporting when acts of child sexual abuse occur.
- All information shall be kept confidential in the interest and for the safety of information providers and in the best interests of related children.
- Information serving child protection provided and exchanged between information recipients and agencies, organizations and persons with child protection competence and function shall be kept confidential.
- Information and regular and extraordinary reports of agencies and organizations with child protection competence and function shall be classified in terms of confidentiality level and scope of provision.
Moreover, the National Telephone Exchange for Child Protection shall operate round the clock, providing free child protection services over the phone, preventing all acts of child sexual abuse in particular and child abuse in general.
Decree No. 56/2017/NĐ-CP of Vietnam’s Government takes effect from July 01, 2017, replacing Decree No. 71/2011/NĐ-CP.
