Vietnam: In 2020, the national multidimensional poverty line for the 2021-2025 period will be issued

After hearing the reports by representatives of the leadership of the Ministries, the Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the Vietnamese Fatherland Front, and the statements of representatives of the Ministries, the member agencies of the Steering Committee, Deputy Prime Minister of Vietnam Vu Duc Dam concluded:

- Agree with the proposal of the Ministry of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs (MOLISA) to organize a national online conference to summarize the National Target Program for Sustainable Poverty Reduction for the 2016-2020 period;

- Agree with the plan to organize the program "Whole country joins hands for the poor" without the content of launching supportive messages as in previous years;

- The Ministry of Planning and Investment of Vietnam urgently presides over the appraisal of the investment guidelines for the national target program for sustainable poverty reduction and social security for the 2021-2025 period before organizing the national online conference;

- Agree with the proposal of the Ministry of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs to issue the national multidimensional poverty line for the 2021-2025 period in 2020. The Office of the Government of Vietnam urgently seeks the opinions of the members of the Government of Vietnam on the draft Decree stipulating the national multidimensional poverty line for the 2021-2025 period to submit to the Prime Minister of Vietnam for consideration and decision.
