Vietnam: Importing 51,051 tons of unmanufactured tobacco in 2017

This is one of the contents mentioned in Circular No. 39/2016/TT-BCT of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam prescribing the import of unmanufactured tobacco under 2017 tariff quota. According to this Circular:

- The quantity of unmanufactured tobacco (HS Code 2401) imported under 2017 tariff quota is 51,051 tons.

Thus, compared to 2016, the quantity of unmanufactured tobacco increased by 2,431 tons (in 2016 imported 48,620 tons).

- The allocation of unmanufactured tobacco import tariff quota must comply with Circular No. 04/2014/TT-BCT of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam.

- Import tariff quota is not applicable to unmanufactured tobacco (HS Code 2401) of ASEAN origin. The import of unmanufactured tobacco from ASEAN countries must comply with Circular No. 07/2015/TT-BCT of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam.

Circular No. 39/2016/TT-BCT of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam takes effect from January 01, 2017 to the end of December 31, 2017.
