The guidelines is to clarify a number of administrative violations regarding national border protection in Vietnam, for example:
- Individuals who are temporarily staying, or traveling in maritime border areas violating the regulations include:
+ Residence or temporary residence beyond the prescribed time limit for foreigners working, studying, investing, and doing business in economic zones located in maritime border areas or having a part of the administrative boundary in the maritime border area;
Temporarily staying, staying, or traveling in maritime border areas without complying with the inspection and control of the Border Guard and competent authorities in Vietnam
- Failing to declare, conceal, or assist others in traveling, temporarily staying, or illegally remaining in maritime border areas:
Is an act of an individual or organization failing to notify, declare, or register with a competent agency or person on temporary residence or stay in a maritime border area; or acts of knowing that other people are not allowed to travel, temporarily stay, or stay in maritime border areas but hiding, harboring, helping, or creating conditions for such a person to travel, temporarily reside, or stay in the maritime border area.
Vietnam's Circular 82/2022/TT-BQP takes effect on January 8, 2023, and replaces Vietnam's Circular 173/2020/TT-BQP dated December 30, 2020.
