Recently, the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam has issued the Circular No. 148/2020/TT-BCA amending the Circular No. 57/2015/TT-BCAproviding instructions on installation of fire prevention and firefighting equipment into road vehicles.
Circular No. 148/2020/TT-BCA of the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam promulgates the list and norms of equipment for fire prevention and fighting for road motor vehicles, replacing Appendix I of the Circular No. 57/2015/TT-BCA, specifically:
- Cars with less than 9 seats: No need to equip fire protection equipment;
- Cars from 10 to 30 seats and more than 30 seats: Must be equipped with 02 portable fire extinguishers with a mass of not less than 2 kg of extinguishing agent or a portable CO2 extinguisher with a mass of no extinguishing agent. less than 2 kg or a portable water-based fire extinguisher with an extinguishing agent capacity of not less than 3 liters; 01 hand-held flashlight. In addition, cars with over 30 seats must be equipped with 01 portable fire extinguisher with a volume of not less than 4 kg of extinguishing agent or a portable CO2 extinguisher with a mass of not less than 5 kg of extinguishing agent or portable water-based fire extinguishers with a capacity of not less than 6 liters of extinguishing agent;

Moreover, Circular No. 148/2020/TT-BCA also promulgates the list and norms of equipment for fire prevention and fighting equipment for road motorized vehicles transporting dangerous goods, replacing Appendix II of the Circular No. 57/2015/TT-BCA.
