The Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam issued Decision No. 4495/QĐ-BCT on electricity prices, which officially comes into effect from December 01, 2017.
According to Decision No. 4495/QĐ-BCT of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam, the average retail electricity price is VND 1,720.65 per kWh, which is an increase of 6.08% compared to the current electricity price of VND 1,622.01 per kWh (exclusive of VAT).
Thus, retail electricity prices for domestic use are changed as follows:
- 0 – 50 kWh: From VND 1,484 per kWh to VND 1,549 per kWh;
- 51 – 100 kWh: From VND 1,533 per kWh to VND 1,600 per kWh;
- 101 – 200 kWh: From VND 1,786 per kWh to VND 1,858 per kWh;
- 201 – 300 kWh: From VND 2,242 per kWh to VND 2,340 per kWh;
- 301 – 400 kWh: From VND 2,503 per kWh to VND 2,615 per kWh;
- 401 kWh or higher: From VND 2,587 per kWh to VND 2,701 per kWh.
The Electricity Prices in the Appendix enclosed with Decision No. 4495/QĐ-BCT of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam replaces the Electricity Prices in the Appendix enclosed with Decision No. 2256/QĐ-BCT dated March 12, 2015.
