Vietnam: Diet and rest regime with inmates in military prisons

The Minister of National Defense of Vietnam issues Circular 89/2022/TT-BQP dated December 6, 2022 on the Rules of Prison.

According to Vietnam's Circular 89/2022/TT-BQP, the diet and rest for inmates in military prisons are as follows:
 
- Inmates must eat at the prescribed time and place and maintain food hygiene and safety.
 
Inmates who have a deposit at the inmate detention facility can use it to register to buy food and food to eat more, but it cannot exceed three quantities in one month for each inmate and necessary equipment for living and studying according to the inmate detention facility's regulations.
 
Inmates who need mutual material assistance must request and obtain the consent of the responsible officer.
 
- Inmates must lie in the correct position in the cell; sleep; rest on time; and maintain personal hygiene in prison cells and public places.
 
In addition, Vietnam's Circular 89/2022/TT-BQP also stipulates the medical examination and treatment regime for inmates as follows:
 
Inmates who are sick or ill must report promptly and strictly abide by the instructions and guidelines of medical staff, officials of detention facilities, and the rules and regulations of the medical examination and treatment facility.
