Vietnam: Developing a trading center serving as a focal point for the purchase and sale of paddy and rice in the Mekong Delta region

This is one of the key tasks mentioned in Decision No. 3434/QĐ-BCT of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam on the Plan for the implementation of the Strategy for the development of Vietnam's rice export market in the period 2017-2020, with a vision towards 2030.

Attached to Decision No. 3434/QĐ-BCT of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam is the Annex containing the table showing the assignment of tasks led by the Ministry of Industry and Trade. Some prominent tasks include:

- Conducting research to establish trading centers, focal points for purchasing and selling, and introducing paddy and rice products in the Mekong Delta region;

- Developing plans and solutions to expand the rice export market in Asia, Africa, and the Americas;

- Strengthening negotiation efforts to open up new markets and remove trade barriers.

- Issuing new documents to amend and supplement Decree No. 109/2010/ND-CP of Vietnam’s Government on rice export business and its guiding documents.

Detailed tasks can be found in the Annexes attached to Decision No. 3434/QĐ-BCT of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam, which takes effect from September 05, 2017.
