Vietnam: Covid-19 vaccine eligibility of women who are more than 13 weeks pregnant

The Ministry of Health of Vietnam issued Decision 3802/QD-BYT on provisional guidance on pre-vaccination screening for Covid-19 vaccine.

According to Vietnam's Decision 3802/QD-BYT, an additional group of pregnant women over 13 weeks is classified as needing to be cautiously vaccinated with the COVID-19 vaccine.

Thus, the following subjects must be carefully screened in Vietnam, including:

- People with a history of allergies to other allergens.

- People with underlying diseases, chronic diseases.

- People who lose their sense of self, lose their behavioral capacity.

- People with a history of thrombocytopenia and/or coagulopathy.

- Pregnant women > 13 weeks.

- Those who detect abnormal vital signs:

+ Temperature <35, 5°C and >37.5°C.

+ Pulse: < 60 beats/min or > 100 beats/min.

Diastolic blood pressure < 60 mmHg or > 90 mmHg and/or systolic blood pressure < 90 mmHg or > 140 mmHg or 30 mmHg higher than daily blood pressure (in people with hypertension who are being treated and have a medical record)

Breathing rate > 25 breaths/minute.

Vietnam's Decision 3802/QD-BYT takes effect from August 10, 2021.
