Vietnam: Conditions to be satisfied by persons directly participating in the food production from March 22, 2020

Decree No. 17/2020/NĐ-CP of Vietnam’s Government on amendments to some Articles of Decrees related to necessary business conditions in fields under the management of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam was issued on February 05, 2020.

Decree No. 17/2020/NĐ-CP of Vietnam’s Government amends the conditions to be satisfied by persons directly participating in the food production previously specified in Decree No. 77/2016/NĐ-CP. From March 22, 2020, persons directly participating in the food production must satisfy the following conditions:

- Persons who directly participate in the food production must be trained in food safety and their participation in training courses must be confirmed by the owner of the production establishment

- Persons who directly participate in the food production must satisfy health conditions; do not contract cholera, dysentery, typhoid, hepatitis A, bacterial skin infection, tuberculosis and acute diarrhea.

- Persons directly participating in the food production must dress separate protective clothing, wear specialized hats, gloves and mark.

- Persons directly participating in the food production must obey provisions on practice for hygiene assurance: Keeping fingernails short and clean and not to wear rings, jewelry or wrist-watches; not eating, drinking, smoking and spitting in the food production area.
