Vietnam: Centralized quarantine for 07 days for inbound passengers who are fully vaccinated against Covid-19

On August 04, 2021, the Ministry of Health of Vietnam issued Official Dispatch No. 6288/BYT-MT on reduction in centralized quarantine duration for inbound passengers who are fully vaccinated against Covid-19.

According to the Official Dispatch No. 6288/BYT-MT of the Health Ministry of Vietnam, an inbound passenger will undergo centralized quarantine for 07 days and health monitoring in the next 07 days if he/she fully satisfies the following conditions:

- He/she tests negative for SARS-CoV-2 (by RT-PCR/RT-LAMP test) within 72 hours before departure and receives a certificate issued by the competent authority of the country in which the test is done.

- He/she has received the required Covid-19 vaccine doses (the last dose must be administered within the period of 14 days to 12 months before the date of entry) and has a vaccination certificate.

He/she used to be infected with SARS-CoV-2 (has a certificate that he/she tested positive for SAR-COV-2 with one-step RT-PCR method within the last 6 months before the date of entry) and a certificate that he/she has recovered from Covid-19 or an equivalent document issued by the competent authority of the country where he/she is treated.

(The above conditions are not applied for those who enter Vietnam to work for less than 14 days and other cases of quarantine upon entry prescribed by National Steering Committee and the Ministry of Health).

Previously, according to the Official Dispatch No. 5599/BYT-MT dated July 14, 2021, the Ministry of Health of Vietnam reduced the quarantine duration from 21 days to 14 days for inbound passengers.
