Vietnam: By 2030, the number of staffed officials of the State Audit Office does not to exceed 2,700 people

Recently, the Standing Committee of the National Assembly of Vietnam issued Resolution 999/2020/UBTVQH14 promulgating the Development Strategy of the State Audit Office to 2030 (2021-2030 period).

Resolution 999/2020/UBTVQH14 sets forth the objective of establishing a streamlined and adequate force of staffed officials of the State Audit Office, meeting quality requirements, and having a reasonable structure. The number of staffed officials of the State Audit Office is determined by the Standing Committee of the National Assembly of Vietnam after consulting with competent authorities to ensure alignment with task execution requirements and development trends in each period, with a maximum of 2,700 people by 2030.

By 2025, strive for annual audits to cover approximately 80%, with the remaining 20% audited at least once every two years.

By 2030, aim for annual audits to comprehensively cover 100% of the State Budget settlement for ministries, central authorities, and provincial and municipal budgets under central government jurisdiction.

Simultaneously, diversify audit content by gradually increasing operational audits, thematic audits, information technology audits, environmental audits, and new audit areas and content; strive to conduct annual audits comprising approximately 30% by 2025 and 40% or more by 2030.

Details can be found in Resolution 999/2020/UBTVQH14 effective on September 16, 2020.
