Vietnam: Approval of the formulation of the press network development planning for the new era

Recently, the Prime Minister of Vietnam issued Decision No. 1321/QD-TTg regarding the formulation of the planning for the development of the network of press agencies, radio stations, television stations, electronic Information, and publishers for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050.

The Prime Minister of Vietnam has approved the formulation of the planning for the development of the network of press agencies, radio stations, television stations, electronic Information, and publishers for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050 with the following objectives:

- Organize and rationally arrange the network of press agencies, electronic information, publishing, grassroots information, and foreign affairs information, focusing on operational efficiency, innovating models, organizational structures, applying new technologies, modern technical infrastructure, and developing human resources;

- Meet the requirements of the country's socio-economic development, and the information needs of the people, and ensure national defense and security, while keeping up with the capabilities and information development levels of countries in the region and internationally;

- Contribute to overcoming shortcomings and inadequacies left by old and historical planning.

In this context, the subjects of planning include the fields of press (print, radio, television, electronic press); publishing (publishing, printing, distribution); electronic information; foreign affairs information; and grassroots information.
