Vietnam: Amendment of regulations on issuance of motor vehicle registration certificates

The Ministry of Transport of Vietnam issued Circular No. 42/2018/TT-BGTVT amending a number of Articles of Circulars on registration.

Circular No. 42/2018/TT-BGTVT of the Ministry of Transport of Vietnam shortens the completion time for the following procedures:

- Issuance of quality certificate for imported special-use motorcycles: Within 04 working days from the receipt of sufficient application and completion of physical inspection, Vietnam Register shall issue a quality certificate (the time limit is 05 days according to current regulation);

- Issuance of certificate of quality of modified vehicle: Within 03 working days from the day on which the modified vehicle undergoes acceptance and is found conformable (the time limit is 05 days according to current regulation);

- Issuance of certificate of design appraisal of renovated motor vehicle: If the design is found conformable, the design appraising agency shall issue a Certificate of design appraisal within 5 working days from the day on which sufficient design documents are received (the time limit is 07 days according to current regulation).
