Vietnam: 10% discount on appraisal fee for issuance of business license of civilian cryptographic products and services

On March 11, 2021, the Ministry of Finance of Vietnam issued Circular 18/2021/TT-BTC on the rates of collection and payment of fees for appraisal and grant of business licenses of civil cryptographic products and services, certificate of conformity with civil cryptographic products, and certificate of conformity with civil cryptographic products.

Regulations on fees for application for licenses to sell civilian cryptography products and services and certificates of conformity of civilian cryptography products to standards and regulations:

- From March 11, 2021 to December 31, 2021, applicants shall pay 90% of the fee rates mentioned in Section I and Section II of the fee and charge schedule promulgated together with Vietnam's Circular 249/2016/TT-BTC dated November 11, 2016 (discount 10% compared to the current fee).

- From March 11, 2021 to December 31, 2021, applicants do not pay fees mentioned in Section I and Section II of the fee and charge schedule promulgated together with Circular 249/2016/TT-BTC.

- From January 11, 2022, applicants shall pay fees for assessment according to Vietnam's Circular 249/2016/TT-BTC.

Scope, regulated entities; fee payers; fee collection organization; fee rates; fee declaration and payment; fee management and use and other relevant contents not provided for in this Circular shall comply with regulations of Vietnam's Circular 249/2016/TT-BTC, Law on Tax Administration and Decree 126/2020/ND-CP.

Vietnam's Circular 18/2021/TT-BTC takes effect from March 11, 2021 to the end of December 31, 2021.
